Built one at a time in Central Pennsylvania, B.D. Jenkins Custom Instruments are handcrafted by luthier Brian Jenkins and personally signed upon completion. Every instrument is uniquely constructed, ensuring no two guitars are exactly alike.
The Odyssey, known as "Jezebel" by its creator, was designed for musicians who want the expressive capability of both an acoustic and electric guitar in a single instrument. Built around a semi-hollow sapele body with a stunning blue flamed maple top, the Odyssey combines innovative engineering with handcrafted artistry. Its five-piece maple, walnut, and purpleheart neck features an acoustic-width profile, 45mm unbleached bone nut, 12" fingerboard radius, and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with custom aluminum position markers, creating a comfortable playing experience for singer-songwriters and electric players alike.
What sets the Odyssey apart is its dual-voice design. In acoustic mode, a piezo Tune-O-Matic bridge system feeds an onboard 9V preamp through dedicated volume and tone controls, delivering articulate acoustic-style tones through a single ¼" output. Switch to electric mode and a pair of hand-wired passive P-90 pickups take over, offering everything from warm cleans to gritty blues and classic rock response via independent volume controls, a master tone, and a three-way selector switch. Full copper shielding, individually grounded strings, premium Gotoh tuners, and a solid rosewood bridge complete a truly unique instrument that bridges two musical worlds without compromise. Includes a hard shell case.
