The B.D. Jenkins Cardinal "Marlin" is a handcrafted semi-hollow electric guitar built for players who want boutique craftsmanship, exceptional sustain, and powerful humbucker tone. Designed and built in Central Pennsylvania, the Marlin combines a neck-through 5-piece mahogany, purpleheart, and flamed maple neck with a solid black walnut body and striking ambrosia maple top for a responsive, resonant playing experience.
Its semi-hollow single f-hole design adds warmth, depth, and acoustic character while retaining the focus and attack needed for modern rock, blues, and high-gain applications. A Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the neck position delivers rich mids and smooth lead tones, while the Seymour Duncan Distortion Mayhem bridge pickup provides tight low end, articulate crunch, and aggressive output when pushed.
A comfortable Modern "C" neck profile, 25.5" scale length, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, and generous 45mm nut width give the Marlin a substantial yet comfortable feel that suits a wide range of playing styles. Les Paul-style dual volume and dual tone controls allow precise shaping of each pickup, making it equally capable on stage, in the studio, or as a standout centerpiece in any collection.
The Marlin is finished with distinctive boutique appointments including custom mother-of-pearl "J" and marlin duck inlays, a 3+3 headstock design, chrome Tune-O-Matic hardware, clear control knobs, and cream pickup rings. A soft case is included.
