The Ibanez TS5 Tube Screamer
is a budget-friendly overdrive and distortion pedal from the Ibanez Soundtank series
, produced in Taiwan from 1991 to 1998.
Key Features:
Circuitry: Features an overdrive circuit closely based on the classic Ibanez TS9, delivering the signature mid-forward grit, soft clipping, and warm sustain of traditional Tube Screamers.
Controls: Equipped with a straightforward 3-knob layout: Drive (Dist) for distortion intensity and sustain, Tone for overall tonal balance, and Level (Volume) for output volume.
Casing: Housed in the plastic Soundtank enclosure (though a small number of very early 1991 units featured a metal casing).
Power: Runs on a single 9V battery or an external 9V DC AC adapter.
